BT-D1, Introductory-Level: Anxiety Due To COVID-19 Among Preschool Children Based On Parent Report
This study examines the psychological impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on vulnerable young children in and around the metro Atlanta, Georgia, area. Specifically, it addresses whether the pandemic increased fear and anxiety in the sample population of children aged 3 to 5 years old.

BT-D2, Introductory-Level: Digital Parenting During And After COVID-19
The Digital Parenting program was created in 2021 to connect parents with evidence-based parenting information remotely. The project provides access to a digital library of parenting messages and supports effective digital communication options, family-friendly approaches that allow parents to engage in their child’s development and establish positive parenting.

BT-D3, Introductory-Level: Ensuring A Sugar-Free Start: Preventing Sugary Drink Consumption Among Young Children To Increase Health And Decrease Health Disparities
In this session we will describe how marketing creates misperceptions among caregivers about the healthfulness of child-directed sugar-sweetened drinks, demonstrate how our campaign uses “countermarketing” to prevent caregivers’ provision of sugary drinks to their young children, and explain cost-effective strategies to utilize campaign materials in a variety of settings.

EveLyn Wedge is an LPC psychotherapist in private practice in Georiga and the founder of The Early Years Matter, LLC. She served on the exploratory founding board of the Georgia Association for Infant Mental Health (GA-AIMH) and is currently on the GA-AIMH Advisory Council. She is a doctoral candidate, in the final stages of completing her dissertation for a Ph.D. in Infant and Early Childhood Development, with an emphasis on Mental Health and Developmental Disorders.

YaeBin Kim is an Extension Specialist/Associate Professor with the University of Nevada Reno Extension (https://extension.unr.edu). YaeBin has a Ph. D. degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, 2010. YaeBin’ expertise is in parenting education for parents of young children, child abuse and prevention, school readiness, and family literacy. YaeBin has developed and implemented several parenting education programs and workshops for parents of young children including Exploring Safety, Let’s Discover STEM (STEM education for parents of young children) and Little Books and Little Cooks (cooking with kids)

Frances Fleming-Milici

Uconn Rudd Center for Food Policy and Health
Dr. Fleming is Director of Marketing Initiatives at the UConn Rudd Center for Food Policy and Health and has a Research Faculty appointment at the Institute for Collaboration on Health, Intervention, and Policy (InCHIP) at the University of Connecticut. For over 11 years she has conducted research and published reports and academic papers analyzing the amount, type, and nutrition of food and beverages marketed to children, adolescents, and parents of young children, including assessing race/ethnicity-based targeted marketing practices. Recent projects include creating, testing, and disseminating videos to prevent parents' provision of sugary drinks to older babies and toddlers; and analyzing the presence of unhealthy food and beverages in child-influencer YouTube videos. Currently, she is co-principal investigator on a grant with various food marketing projects and principal investigator on a grant to create and test front-of-package disclosures on children's drinks designed to increase parents' understanding of the ingredients in the drinks they select for their young children.

Sally Mancini is Director of Advocacy Resources at the Rudd Center for Food Policy and Health. Her role is to inform the public, community organizations, advocates, and policy makers about the Center’s research and helps state and local advocates develop the resources necessary to support food policy improvements in all communities. Prior to joining the Rudd Center, she coordinated advocacy and public policy campaigns for public health clients as a lobbyist with Judith Blei Government Relations and as Assistant Director of End Hunger CT!. Sally earned her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Connecticut.
