    Our virtual training-of-trainers combines live online events and self-study to support your journey towards becoming a ZERO TO THREE certified trainer of The Growing Brain curriculum. Our virtual learning environment provides you with a variety of independent and small group learning experiences.

    Please Note: Course content will become available the week of the training. Registration closes the week before the training. Access to this course closes 30 days after the last live event.

    Attendance to all live sessions is required to earn credit for this course. Live sessions MUST be accessed through the eLearn Platform. Recordings will be available for review only. No credit is earned for viewing the recording.

    Attendance Verification codes are used to automate attendance. Codes will be given in the live sessions and must be put into their corresponding boxes under the Content tab. This will unlock additional course content.  Codes will NOT be provided via email.

    Our newly designed virtual training-of-trainers combines live online events and self-study to support your journey towards becoming a ZERO TO THREE certified trainer of The Growing Brain curriculum. Our virtual learning environment provides you with a variety of independent and small group learning experiences. You will engage in a guided self-study of the curriculum, have in-depth discussions about content with a ZERO TO THREE faculty, brainstorm with other adult educators about strategies for delivery, and create activities that meet the learning needs of the early childhood professionals you support!

    The Growing Brain Virtual Training-of-Trainers has four parts:

    1. Pre-recorded ToT Orientation

    2. Complete a Guided Self Study

    3. Live Trainer Seminars (Parts 1 and 2) 

    4. Live Wrap-Up Meeting

    Completion of the training-of-trainer (ToT) events only grants you eligibility to apply for Trainer Certification. You will need to apply and submit all Trainer Certification requirements stated in the Trainer Certification Overview 14 calendar days after attending the ToT. You are not considered certified until you receive your ZERO TO THREE Trainer Certification in your eLearn Dashboard.

    Transform teacher-child interactions! Build coaches’ capacity to integrate the ZERO TO THREE Critical Competencies for Infant-Toddler Educators™ model and resources into current and potential coaching plans, curriculum, and strategies. ZERO TO THREE Expert Faculty guide a cohort of coaches (or other TA providers, or program leaders responsible for coaching) through an intensive program that equips them with strategies and resources to help their coachees reflect on, practice and advance the Critical Competencies.

    The ZERO TO THREE Critical Competencies for Infant-Toddler Educators™ define the specific knowledge and practices required for infant-toddler educators to be successful now, to support the future of our children. This virtual Micro-ToT prepares early childhood professional development (PD) specialists to deliver Area 2: Supporting Cognitive Development, of the ZERO TO THREE Critical Competencies  Curriculum. The Micro-ToT supports PD specialists and other adult educators in earning a ZERO TO THREE trainer badge for the Critical Competencies, Area 2. 

    Completion of the Training of Trainer (ToT) events only grants you eligibility to apply for Badging. You will need to apply and submit all Badging requirements stated in the Badged Trainer Overview 14 calendar days after attending the ToT. You are not considered Badged until you receive your ZERO TO THREE Badge in your eLearn Dashboard.

    Area 2 Micro-ToT Objectives: Participant trainers will… 

    • Identify, recognize, analyze, and build understanding of Area 2 ZERO TO THREE Critical Competencies for Infant-Toddler Educators™ that support cognitive development in children, ages birth through 3;  
    • Demonstrate understanding of concepts within each of the four Area 2 modules;  
    • Gain knowledge of the learning objectives within each Area 2 module;  
    • Enhance and demonstrate knowledge of strategies to create trusting and respectful interactions with and among training participants; 
    • Contribute to the development of interactive learning activities for each module using adult learning principles as a foundation; and 
    • Develop capacity to deliver Critical Competencies Area 2 training modules and implement participant evaluation protocols and documentation for CEUs, clock or credit hours. 

    Area 2 Micro-ToT Length: 

    ZERO TO THREE Faculty will guide a cohort of up to 20 trainers through an intensive five-part virtual training of trainers’ course.  Each virtual ZERO TO THREE Critical Competencies for Infant-Toddler Educators™ Micro-ToT consists of five parts:

    • ZERO TO THREE Critical Competencies for Infant-Toddler Educators™ Online Course (Area 2)
    • Overview and Orientation meeting
    • ZERO TO THREE Critical Competencies for Infant-Toddler Educators™ 2-Day Virtual Trainer Seminar
    • Wrap-up web meeting
    • Additional virtual trainer support

    The Area 2 sessions total up to 15 clock hours: up to 13 hours of self-study, asynchronous and live content instruction and delivery discussion; and 2 hours of additional trainer role information, activity, and support. Please note that the total clock hour time estimate does not include an additional 2-3 hours outside of web meetings for preparation, reflection, knowledge assessment activities, and implementation planning; or participant breaks during the micro-ToT. Additionally, badged trainers have access to up to 12 hours of support annually via our Expert Faculty Office Hours.

    Live sessions MUST be accessed through the eLearn Platform.

    Cancellation/Refund Policy All cancellation/refund requests must be received in writing by email to ZERO TO THREE (ZTT) at least thirty (30) days before the event start date. Refund requests will be processed within 30 days after the request is received. No refunds will be made within 30 days of the event start date. All sales within 30 days of an event are final.   

    Transfers Registrations may be transferred to an identical event in the future, or to another person. Transfers to future events must be received by email to ZTT at least 30 days before the original event’s start date. If transferring to another person, the original registrant should submit a transfer notice at least one (1) business day prior to the event start date. It should include the name of the person to whom the registration is being transferred along with the phone number and email of the substitute.

    ZERO TO THREE is pleased to offer Continuing Education Units for a wide range of learning events, both in person and on line. LIVE ATTENDANCE REQUIRED TO EARN CREDIT FOR THIS COURSE.

    Contact hours and CEUs are automatically added to your registration for no additional charge. Registrants can earn up to 1.6 CEUs or 16 Contact Hours for this course. Continuing Education Units are awarded with live attendance to in in-person sessions, completed online modules. completed course evaluation, and passing knowledge assessment scores of 80% or greater.

    This professional development event will provide participants with a foundational understanding of infant and early childhood development from birth through 5 years old.

    During the earliest months and years of life, the architecture of the brain is being built at an unparalleled rate in response to nurturing early experiences. Gain a fundamental understanding of infant and early childhood development from birth through 5 years old. Explore multiple domains of development such as physical, motor, perceptual, cognitive, communication and language development, with a focus on social-emotional development, as the foundation for all development. Consider how development unfolds in infants and young children and recognize indicators of developmental delays or possible disorders in addition to milestones of typical development.

    Learning Objectives:

    1. Define major developmental milestones across 6 domains for ages 0–5 years.
    2. Describe the 6 domains through a social-emotional developmental lens.
    3. Identify ways to support parents and caregivers in providing developmentally appropriate support.
