C4: Going Beyond the Well Visit: A HealthySteps Case Study

Overview

HealthySteps Specialists are in a unique position to provide longitudinal, relationship-based care to infants, toddlers, and their families. This session will describe how Brookdale Hospital's HealthySteps program went beyond the well visit to address one toddler’s at-risk social–emotional health.

1. The participant will be able to describe the benefits of collaboration between healthcare providers, infant mental health specialists and community programs to address the needs of infants and toddlers
2. The participant will be able to identify the dyadic therapy techniques utilized in treatment with a toddler and her mother over the course of one year.
3. The participant will be able to identify CPP interventions that facilitate healing through the primary attachment relationship.
